The Menomonie Public Shooting Range and the Menomonie Rifle and Pistol Club, LLC are separate entities.

The Menomonie Public Shooting Range is one of three county parks owned by Dunn County Facilities and Parks devoted to the shooting sports. Donations from individuals using the range is the major source of the range's operational funding . At the Menomonie Public Shooting Range, these donations are in the form of range use donations (donations from clients when they use the range). The suggested donation is $5.00 per person per day (see the range rules and regulations for more details). The range use donation money is applied to range operating costs such as: maintenance, including lawn mowing and snow removal, repairs of fences, buildings and range equipment used to maintain the grounds, equipment, and target stands. The money is also used for electricity, office supplies, etc. Major projects are primarily subsidized by grants and corporate donations. The sponsor page lists many of the Range's continuing sponsors. The Club also performs soil testing to ensure compliance with EPA regulations for shooting ranges.

The Menomonie Rifle and Pistol Club, LLC. is a club dedicated to the advancement of the sport of firearms shooting. Part of that dedication is a partnership with the Dunn County Facilities and Parks Department. In this partnership, the Rifle and Pistol Club maintains and operates this range for Dunn County and manages a separate bank account containing range donations and grants. Neither the club nor any members receive any money from the range funds. The Menomonie Rifle and Pistol Club has 34 trained Range Safety Officers (RSO) who ensure the Menomonie Public Shooting Range is operated safely for our customers. This Past year, those RSOs have volunteered over 1800 hours to keep the range open to people wishing to use the facility. Our club members have volunteered another 700+ hours to maintaining and improving the Menomonie Public Shooting Range. A few of the projects recently completed include: Improving safety by re-working the 100 and 200 yard berms, adding yardage markers, installing a well and pumphouse for running water, improvments to the trap range, an ADA accessible 300 yard firing bench, and rock retaining walls. These improvements fall directly into the county’s vision of providing recreational activities for residents and the club’s vision of promoting shooting sports.

In addition, The Menomonie Rifle and Pistol Club provides lead sleds, spotting scopes, sandbags. and eye and hearing protection for clients while using the range at no cost. The club also hosts several events throughout the year. These include women and youth events, the Appleseed project, and Hunter Safety Courses. We also host shoots for non profit organizations where the proceeds are distributed back into our community. We even provide team building events for organizations. See our events page for more information.

The Menomonie Rifle and Pistol Club also supports several local organizations including Christmas Wish, Stepping Stones, Special olympics, Several veterans organizations and Crimestoppers.
